Nutwood Farm is now open *weekends only* for the 2025 season. Please come visit us!

The 2025 nut season is upon us with a bumper early chestnut crop! We first opened this year on March 8 & 9, and had quite a few visitors for our first weekend of “pick-your-own chestnuts and walnuts” in 2025. We’ll update this site as frequently as we can – along with our facebook and instagram pages. Note that each year, the harvest runs from early March to mid/late April.

  • Nutwood Farm is at 22 Danes Way Mt Irvine 2786, NSW (via Mt Wilson off Bells Line of Road). Each year we’re open from mid March, usually until early to mid April – pending how long it takes to pick all the nuts. Please refer to our facebook page for more regular updates. Note: we are only open for around 5 to 6 weekends – it’s a short but busy season!
  • It’s free to enter Nutwood Farm and we have two toilets plus a paddock roped off for picnics.
  • As above, we are open WEEKENDS ONLY – plus the four days of Easter, from Good Friday to Easter Monday. Given Easter is so late this year, however, we’ll have to see if there are any nuts left by then! We will post here, as well as on our Nutwood Farm Mt Irvine Facebook and Instagram accounts once we have run out of nuts and are closed for good.
  • Opening hours are from 9am to 4pm – the farm gate closes at 4pm sharp!
  • We take all possible care and precautions to ensure you’ll have a great day out picking nuts, but your safety and the safety of those with you is your responsibility. Keep an eye on your children at all times.
  • Dogs are welcome, as long as they are on a leash, and not dangerous in any way. Please pick up after your dog.
  • We ask that visitors drive at 20km/hour once on the property – and arrive at Nutwood Farm with at least half a tank of petrol/a well-charged battery, plus drinking water, sunscreen, a hat and wet weather gear if rain looks likely. Fully enclosed, sturdy walking shoes made of leather, vortex or similar are the best option, and will keep you most comfortable.
  • Note that mobile phone reception is patchy around Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine.
  • See the other pages for more information on what to bring to Nutwood, and what to expect.
